Introduction

On Tuesday, 27 February 2018, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the European Parliament in Brussels, a compelling seminar titled “Challenges for Freedom of Conscience & Religion in Europe and…Security” was held. This event, organized by Hannu Takkula MEP (ALDE) and Csaba Sógor MEP (EPP), in partnership with the International Association for the Defence of Religious Liberty, explored critical issues affecting religious freedom in Europe. The seminar featured the launch of significant publications by the Association and presentations by key experts, including Dr. Rik Torfs, who discussed the intersection of peace, security, and religious freedom. The session provided an engaging and enlightening discussion on these pressing matters.
